Allergy Safe snacks kids will eat that are safe if allergic to milk, nuts, eggs and peanut allergies.

Having a party or just a get together and not everyone has food allergies? 

Cooking is not something I'm  good at which makes hosting allergy friendly parties quite  challenging. Figuring out what allergy free foods and snacks kids and teens with no allergies would also eat took me quite a few years and a lot of trial and error. 

I'll never forget my kids 5th birthday sleep over party.   I served only healthy and allergy friendly fruits, veggies, homemade chicken nuggets,home fried chips and a cake I baked from scratch. Thank God it was a small group  because after that, non of the kids  ever accepted an invitation to come over our home. 

If you are not a great cook, don't know much or know too much about food allergies, and have to provide snacks and food for a bunch of kids and teens don't panic you can do it. Keep in mind, these might not be the healthiest choice but they won't scare your kids friends.

Foods that won't scare your allergic kid friends and are also allergy friendlyThe following is a list of easy to find supermarket products that contain no nuts, no milk, no peanuts and no eggs. Please remember that it is important to read labels every time you purchase a product because manufacturers “do” change ingredients often. 

COOKIES:  Oreo Original Chocolate, Back to Nature Crispy Oatmeal, Back to Nature Chocolate and cream, and all of Enjoy Life brand products, Divvies cookies and cup cakes are delicious and you can order them online.

BAKING MIXES: Cherrybrook Kitchen cakes and cookie mixes are so easy to prepare that even a young kid could do it. The peanut, egg and milk free mixes are great. The new “Gluten Free” mixes are good but it doesn't taste like a regular cake.  The non-gluten free mixes taste much better.

CRACKERS: Ritz Original, Keebler Original Club Crackers

OUT OF A BAG: Lays Classic Potatoes, Lays Salt and Vinegar, Garden of Eden; Red Hot Blues Spicy and all Natural Organic Blue Corn Tortilla Chips, Tostitos Restaurant Style White Corn Chips, Stacy’s Pita chips Original, Stacy’s Pita Cinnamon Sugar Chips. Almost all brands of Cassava Chips and Plantain chips. Kape Cod Kettle Plain or Sea Salt and Vinegar Potato Chips 

DRY MEATS: Most if not all brands of Beef Jerky, Turkey Jerky and Salmon Jerky

CEREALS: Kellogs brand: Rice Krispies, CornFlakes, Mini Wheats, Corn Pops and Frosted Flakes.  Cocoa Kissed Rice (sold in a bag and distributed by Isabel’s Way Cereals),

BREADS: Arnold Select Potato Sandwich Rolls, Pillsbury Crecent Original and Crusty French Bread, Publix Supermarkets regular and potato sandwich, hamburger and hotdog breads.

BUTTER: Earth Balance Original Natural Buttery Spread.

NO -COW-MILKS: Silk Soy Products such as Very Vanilla and Vanilla Cremer (great with coffee).

COLD CUTS: Applegate Organic and Natural Meats such as Sorpressata, Black Forest Ham, Chicke Breasts, Organic Roasted Turkey Breast and more.

OUT OF A CAN &/OR VACUM PACKED: Top of the list Canned Sardines in olive or soy oil and Vacuum Packed Tuna. Watch out for canned tuna if you are allergic to milk since most of them have milk protein (casein) Also, the vacuum pack Spam is an easy to transport food if you are traveling. 


FROZEN BURGERS: Frozen Bubba Burgers the ones that come in a black box need to be seasoned but the yellow box is already seasoned and they taste quite good.  These are good to have because pre-teens and older kids can easily cook them in an counter top electric grill.

HOT DOGS: Hebrew National, Applegate Farms (stay aways from the traditional like Spinach & Feta flavor). Many Oscar Meyer and Ballpark brands regular hot dogs.  

FROZEN CHICKEN STRIPS: Tyson Fun Nuggets, Tyson Chicken Breast Tenders made with white meat chicken, Tyson Buffalo Style Hot Wings Any’tizers.

FROZEN PIZZA: The Tofurky pepperoni, Tofurky Italian Sausage and Roasted Veggie, and Tofurky vegan cheese pizzas are Fantastic! They are sold at most Whole Foods stores and some regional supermarket chains like Mylans. 

SWEETS: Kraft Marshmallows, Enjoy life chocolate bars (also available at amazon), Jelly Belly Jelly Beans.


IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP;
PLACE A SET OF EPIPENS IN A HIGH VISIBLE TRAFFIC AREA: 
Always ask the allergic person to show where their Epipen's are. Not to tell you, but show them to you.  If inside a backpack or a purse be carefull where the bag is left. If it's not a party discuss with the kids parents if it's OK to take them out and hang them next to your home or apt main entrance door. 

Don't be afraid of being  an “over attentive adult” .If your child doesn't have food allergies but has a friend or friends that frequently visit your home, get a set of Epipens and place them in a high traffic area especially during parties play dates, and get together. Ask the parents of your allergic kid to provide a set that you can keep at your home. Most of them will be more than happy to do so.
